I have a Galaxy 73V hooked to a 150 watt linear. The problem is, is that sometimes when you key up n the radio it makes a loud whining noise. You can turn the linear off and turn the radio power knob up and it still will, the same goes with mic gain. Sometimes you can turn it off for a few seconds and turn back on and the whining will stop, then start again. Could you please tell me what my problem is?

rf feedback from the mike possibly from power mike to high or the vehical stereo on!! been here before. first try the stock mike if cures great if not check your ground wires...make sure they are big enuff. then make sure your stereo is off!! sounds like the linear might be back feeding into the radio turn the power down into the LINEAR a bit...oh and check those swrs!! good luck

Monty,

I had a similar problem in my shack caused by static. This may or may not be your problem. I grounded all my equipment and problem ceased.
