i keep hearing about a ts 800 checked several websites including texas star what gives? if so what finals does it have and how many thanks |

Do you mean the DX 667V? It has a single 2SC2290 driving 4 2SC2879's. It is claimed it can do nearly 800 watts. To my knowledge Texas Star doesn't make a model 800.

a texas star 667 doing 800 watts id love to that one on a bird meter 2290=100 watts 4 2879= 500 watts wheres the other 200 watts? |

mistic :Texas Star makes a 800 TX,a 1200TX , and a 1600TX.Don't have any idea what pills are used in them.One of my long time friends has a 800.Drives it with a Galaxy 77.Does about 1000 on the Dosy. |

Tech 181 : Out of the 25,000 DX 667V's made I have yet to see one do over 500 watts on straight am 11 meter. |

I agree fellas, 100%. Some dealers make outrageous claims regarding this, and other equipment. Always check out the specs on the transistors in an amplifier you plan on buying, not by what's printed on the face or what's listed on someone's website.

There are two Texas Star TX 800 in use in this county.Both run dual cooling fans and remote switches.Very loud and very powerful.Don't know when they were made ,just know that they exist. |

Good grief guys. TX 800 is the same thing as a LA 900. I thought you guys knew something about this business. 100 watts out of 2879. Interesting. I'm sure when electricity was first invented, this was probably true. However, since this time, we have what is called transformers. For the little ones there in the back, a transfomer does exactly what it says. It transforms. A 2SC2879 is rated for 100 watts, but at 12 volts. Now if you test the voltage coming out of the transformer, it is much higher. Hense, the exra power. |
