Hello, new here and I've got the KLV 203 on the way. I just want to make sure I set up the rig right. Can anyone give me any tips that I should perform to the radio before I hook up the amp? I am running a Wilson 4' antenna on the car now. TIA, Mike

Check what wattage the 79-290 deadkeys at. Most are set at about 4 watts. You may want to turn it down a little to a 1 1/2 watt deadkey and see how that works. I'll have to look and find what are the pots inside to turn down when time allows. Do you have an external power meter?

That's what I gathered I would have to do, I appreciate the response Al, and yes, I do have an external power meter. Those astatic meters look pretty nice too I might just buy a set of them. Mine is an ancient (20+ years) Lafayette. Mike
