Catfish , the one in your 99 can be fixed. Using and exacto knife , cut the tape around the set screw that sets the movement bearings. Then with a jewelers screwdriver , loosen it ONLY about 1/8 of a turn. The meter will work again...

307 i had the meter adjusted today on the galaxy 99 it worked for about an hour and went back to sticking on 3 again i didnt try your mod yet does the maker of the radio do that on purpose also on the texas star amps whats the difference in a high drive model does it mean i can run a large key up into the radio thanks

307 i completed the meter fix today and it didnt help i turned the small set srcew counter clockwise 1/8 turn i guess it just needs a new meter ive had 3 techs look at it they adjust on it and four about an hour it works fine and then it doesnt

You can normally run up to seven watts dead key into a high drive unit.
