radio works fine except the band selectors do nothing. the hi-low switch-nothing. the a,b,c,d etc. knob-nothing. in all positions ,it stays on the above frequencies. the 40 channel does work. it still changes the 40 channels in that band.does anybody have any ideas?

Don't IC1 and 2 control those functions? I have repaired to 44's that the freq was off on all bands and it was IC1. And some of the diodes on the board with the ic's could also be bad.

Sounds like something in the pll circuit. Could be a diode in that area.
