Try to get the base (feedpoint) of the I-Max at least 30 feet above ground level. The lower this antenna is mounted, the more possible TVI you may cause.

Dale,
I run right at 25' to the base. This is only about 10' above my roof, no GPK, my TV antenna
is about 5' below and just outside the guy wire that runs to ground. Barely noticable TVI in the house on VHF Stations. It will work ok there! Of course I'd LOVE to have it sitting on a 60' tower...LOL 73's - Ron

If my property was larger i'd give those cell phone people permission to put a 200 foot tower in my back yard with my pdl2 on top.

Not to argue anyones point, but, my Imax 2000 is at 74ft to the tip. I have found that as with any 5/8 wave antenna the higher the better. I love my Imax.

Always Mount it as High as you can get it!

Try to have Base/Bottom of Antenna close to 36, 54, 72, or 90' for best performance.

The reason for this is because the IAMAX 2000 and A-99 Antennas radiate from the BOTTOM NOT the TOP of the antenna.

The TRUTH is you know you didn't have it high enough if it lasted through the winter .......
Or in June the top has no snow on it.

I have my Imax in a gum tree LOL.. when the wind blows it likes to dance!!! Its like 60 foot in the air from the base. I can talk to Tabor City, NC barefooted on a clear night, and I live in the lower eastern section of Williamsburg County SC! Just gotta love the IMAX 2K!!

I can only go so high here where i live.
I've tried my Imax 2000 at different heights.
The best heights i've found is 36' to
bottom of Imax or higher as Lon said.

The Imax should be named the wonder stick. The thing rocks, and is phat, at the younger folks say.
