Hi, I just got a DX 400 from copper the other day and it appears to only be putting out 100 watts. This cannot be correct right? Do you think their is something wrong with it? The only thing with that theory is I would think if something is faulty with it, it wouldnt be working at all. Any info would be appreciated. George. |

You may want to check to see if the power wires are at least twice the size of the wires on the back of the amp. It sounds like you have voltage drop. |

ok, I ran 10 gauge which does appear to be the same size as the ones on the amp. Do I need to go bigger like 8 Gauge? Thanks, George. |

It appears to be a little over 100 watts. I do have the green button pushed in and the output knob turned all the way to the right. |

Something wrong here. The green button pushed sets the varable power by user control. Leave out the green button for MAX power , Then..
1) Check the DC Voltage at the source.
2) Check the DC Voltage within 1" of the amp. (use stick pins through the wire.)
3) Check BOTH 1 + 2 with the amp KEYED at full power. Tell me the results... |
