I have a galaxy 55v.
TX is fine. Rx shows good on sig generator. Good rx at 1.8 mv.
But the volume is very low. Volume control is ok, Audio chip is fine. Checked all capacitors in the circuit. TR49 is good.
What am I missing?
It seems to work ok on fm. But am volume is low. |

Out of curiousity, did you go through all of the receive tuning cans?

Oh yes, Was the first step.
But the radio recieves fine. I can turn my signal generator down to .10 micro volts and still detect the signal in the radio. It's just that the volume is low. |

I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to insult your intellegents so please don't take it that way. I'm just not getting the whole picture here. That's why I am asking.
Are you using an external speaker or the one in the radio?

Oh, no way was that even thought of brother.
I am a easy going person 
The radio recieves signals fine. In other words if you connected an antenea it you can hear very far off stations. The problem was that it was not very loud. Even with the volume wide open.
Anyway I found the problem. It was very busy in the shop the other night. So I over look what was going on. Tonight I got back at it and found D10 was cracked. One of those clear geranium diodes. To the point where it was in two seperate pieces. Replaced it and it working fine now.
