i see the dosy REC-4-RF pre amp in the copper catalog how many watts can this handle???will it improve my recieve on my ranger 2970DX???? or how about the Maco 150 pre amp?i am using the 2970DX as a base unit

You definatly do not want a pre-amp with a Ranger. It is already receiving about .3 to .4 uV. A pre-amp will do nothing but bring up the noise figure.

ok thank you i guess i want that "MAGIC" receive so i can hear further stations and was just curious if that would work,,,,,i was considering buying a sweet 16 and it doesnt have a pre amp so i wanted all my bases covered,,,,,,time to reconsider :)
