I have a Galaxy 55 radio that while trying to repair a bad install of a connex board It has suddenly aquired a squeal whenever the mic is keyed up unless the mic gain is turned almost off. The audio wires to the echo board were soldered to the mic pcb. Is it a possibility that the chokes on the mic pcb are damageddue to to much heat or what????? Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds as if the wires to the board are to long. Make them as short as possible.
