My old Turner book shows 2 different mike wirings for the Cheetah, both had a 3 pin mike plug.
Older models:
1. Audio
2. Receive & shield
3. Transmit

Later models:
1. Transmit
2. Audio
3. Receive & shield

Or buy a 4-pin socket, put it on the front and wire it like a Galaxy/Cobra. You will only need pins 1,2 and 3 of the 4-pin socket. If you do this, pin 1 is ground, 2 is mike audio, and 3 is transmit.

If you have other radios that use the standard Galaxy/Cobra 4-pin wiring this will allow swapping mikes from other radios. Much simpler in the long run than having one "special" mike that works on only one radio. Murphy's Law dictates that microphone will break three times as often as the ones that can be "traded" around from one radio to another.

Well I looked thur my junk radios, I've got a Pearce Simpson Panther SSB, which is like the Cheetah, but didn't fine the mike. But like he said, it would be easy to change the mike plug on this one to a four pin. While digging thur those old parts radios, I found another weird old dude, its a Sears-Simpson 40 channel, AM only CB, but it has a FM music radio build in. Some parts are gone from it however. I didn't even remember having it, oldtimers again I guess.

Hey Lon, I bet your's does look good, 'new in the box'. I guess they made them for a while. This one is a "Digital 40", 40 channel with build in FM radio, has a 8473 chip. It has a sloping front with woodgrain, and the big round meter for SWR,power and signal. Didn't see a date, but this is from the rear plate:

Sears-Roebuck & Company, USA
Simpsons-Sears Limited, Canada
Made in Japan
Serial Number: 74063052

And its got the 7 pin mike plug.

Did you look in your's, it might have the chip, some of the later 23's did, not much trouble to put channels in those. scrapiron
