I also have a 510e with a sm5124a pll can it hook up to this on or the 510xl??

Good grief!! The digiscan will be physically bigger than the radio if you want it on a 510XL!!! LOL!

Digi Scan won't work.

ALL of them, regardless of the type require a radio that runs the VCO at the same frequency for transmit that it runs on receive. The 510XL uses what's called a "second harmonic" setup for the transmitter. The internal VCO frequency in the radio is several MHz different from the frequency it uses to receive. No "Digi-Scan" that I have ever seen is designed to cope with that design "feature" in a radio.

Same goes for an external slider. Same reason.
