I am so impressed with my KL 203, I added an external fan and I can't say enough how great it sounds.
Based upon this I am getting from Copper a KL-500 for X-mas and I will be adding a fan to this amp also.
I will running it with a Delta Force, low power dead key is 1 Watt swing to 20.
Is this the best setting? I don't like over driving amps, the few extra Watts isn't worth possibly damaging the amp to me.
What approximate power outputs can I expect at the 6 settings? I am not interested in exact figures, I was just curious if there were approximate expectations based on say my Delta Forces lowest setting.
Thanks for your time.

I have a COPPER KL-500. The spec's say SSB input up to 30 Watts. most people on this forum will tell you about 2 or 3 Watts dead key in. I use an ICOM706MKIIG and it is set at 3Watts AM deadkey which is about 15Watts SSB. That out of the way here's my un-official output!

Stage 1= 175Watts PEP
Stage 2= 200Watts PEP
Stage 3= 225Watts PEP
Stage 4= 250/275Watts PEP (you said approx.)
Stage 5 and 6 I have never used because my power supply is limited to 35 amps and I don't want to stretch the limits anymore than 30 amps.

I keep it at stage 1... 99% of the time.

Thanks Ca346,
Is this SSB or AM?
Nice numbers either way.
Yes approx. is all I am interested in, I understand the different factors involed.
I imagine I will be stage 1 also most of the time. Clean and loud is what I like.
Just wondering where I will be as I click the dial lol...

Point:

I don't really use the AM band at all, but I have keyed it up using the amp, and it is generally half of what the SSB shows on each stage. If you haven't done so yet, you should check out the web site of RM in Italy. The spec sheet on the KL-500 can be downloaded.
