My Delta is one of the first ones not the 2002 model and the display lights are not working right,they still come on but not bright enough to see at night.

I don't remember exactly but as I recall it's about 8v on hi and 5v on low |

Personally, I have a great dislike for those cheap little 6 volt bulbs. They don't seem to have a very long life span.
Try this: Remove the bulbs from each end of the display. Replace them with standard "long lead" 14 volt bulbs from radio shack. The higher the milliamp rating, the brighter the bulb will illuminate.
Find a 12-14 volt source on the board and solder one lead to it and the other to ground. The ON-OFF switch will work nicely for this. Replacing them when needed is also much easier and quicker.
If you think they are too bright, you can always add some resistance in line to bring the brightness down to a confortable level since your dimmer switch will have no effect on them. Or, find a lower (8-10) voltage source on the PC board somewhere. Either way will work.
The above was just a suggestion. I do this with my personal Deltas and Mag-257s.
