does anyone have the CORRECT element spacing measurements for the 104c? my directions say 63 3/8" center to center from reflector to driven. 45" center to center driven to 1st director. 86 5/8" center to center 1st director to 2nd director. all the pictures / drawings i've seen have biggest space between reflector and driven, less space from driven to 1st director, and smallest from 1st to 2nd director. is this a missprint or are the pictures wrong? cef 174 in central ohio |

Follow the Assembly Directions EXACTLY!
The CORRECT spacing is in the Assembly Instructions
There are NO MISPRINTS.
The pictures are deceiving.

I don't have the paper work on a M104, but i've made several 4 elements out of Shooting Star antennas, and used the measurements for the shooting star. They really work well with those measurements, which are:
Reflector to Driven element= 65"
Driven element to 1st director= 56"
1st driver to 2nd driver= 76" |

okay guys thanks. i did follow the directions exactly, and thats the way i put it up. when i put it up in 1995 thats the way we did it then too. but those drawings had me wondering. |

The shooting star spacing really works well for a four element. I have two friends now that are running four elements that we made like this, and man they are some tight on the back and sides, very directional. Don't see how the other spacing could work any better, but it might be as good, i've never tried it. I have heard lots of people with other brands of 3 and 4 element beams talk about the lack of rejection, but the Maco's sure have plenty. |
