Does the PA funtion work? If not, try changing the ta7222ap. You might be able to see a crack in it even upon removal.

The audio chip ta7222p (IC6) is a common failure point in these radios. It should have the following voltages:

1- 13.53
2- 6.51
3- 0
4- 0
5- 0
6- 1.15
7- 0
8- 0
9- 6.76
10- 12.79

If wer're looking at the same schematic, it's the sideways triangle (pointing left) in the lower right hand corner.

Screwed to the side of the chassis and soldered to the board. Right side 2 inches from the front with the cover off the speaker side looking at it from the front, little black thing one screw holding it.

I'm in the process of replacing ta7222 also.
I have no audio in or out, except ssb i can talk but it may be only the powermike supplying the audio.
Can you hear any static or even a hum or slight clicking ?
