are these good base antennas. i want to get a away from the a99. an just wondering if these are good? do the cause less rf with this ant compared to the a99.. does it talk skip as well or better then the a99? any info on this antenna would be great....

The MACO ALPHA V 5/8 is a VERY GOOD ANTENNA with VERY GOOD Band Coverage and VERY GOOD Performance.

Bulldog, I had one of those, as I too prefer aluminum antennas, worked good, swr very good!
I thought the ears were better than the 99, and it sure didnt bleed as much. Dont trow rocks at me guys, this was only my personal experience.
