I have tuned the antenna to an SWR reading of about 1.1 on ch.1 and about 1.23-1.3 on ch.40. Will this be ok on 40 if I were to say run maybe 550 watts occasionally, or should I snip another 1/8" off and get it lower on 40?

Wildrat,

Your SWR across the band Channel 1 - 40 is well within what most call VERY GOOD.

A Spread of 1.1 to 1.3 a lot of people Never See. No need for anymore clipping.

You should have NO PROBLEM's at All with running a 550.
