Just received the new Galaxy 95T. Hooked it up and immediatly saw trouble. The lowest deadkey is 8 watts. I have bought many radios from Copper and they have all had a 2-4 watt dead key after the modification was done. What can I do? Sure can't run a box with this.
Thanks,

If memory serves me correctly, the Galaxy-95T has a built-in linear with a pair of 2290s capable of 200+ watts on SSB. Out of curiousity, what purpose would you have to run this radio into an external linear amplifier?

Or, am I wrong about this radio?

You could run a KLV1000p or any of the Ham type boxes(Ameritron, Alpha, Henry, Heathkit, etc ) with that radio. Other than that, Im with Jeff----Why would you run a CB amp with that radio?

Some days the skip is tough and actual 150 watts on my meter is not enough on am. I like the swing of the radio to run through an amp. "The absession with swing" I really like it.

Part's man,

The dead key was set at 8 watts as you have a built in Amplifier inside of the radio and this will give you Maximum Output.

If the Dead Key watts were set to 2 - 4 watts as with other radio's with out Built in Amps you would only get about 1/2 of the power out of the radio.

With it set at 8 watts you will get MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE!

My suggestion would be with a High Powered Radio with Built in Amp you need to get a High Drive Amp WITH OUT an Exciter to be used with Mobile or Base application's.

Hope this help's.

Well I learned something then. I was under the idea it would d.k. 2 and swing 200. Now that I know about the 8 watts drive I know what to do. I'll put it in the truck and drive the sweet-sixteen with it. Sounds good to me.
Thanks to all for setting me on right track.
