This subject has been discussed at length before , but it is always good for at least 10 or 15 posts... Do a Search on the word ground in the Utilities section on the right.

The best was Tech808's answers about grounding. I have ALMOST (computer's not) everything grounded... 1/2" copper pipe horizontally across the back of the bench. I use circle clamps on the copper pipe with short #8 wire to each piece of equipement. I have a short #8 from the copper pipe to a ground plate outside. Flat braided 1" strap from the plate to a ground rod. Three 25 ft long #12 wires buried in the ground tied to the ground rod.

Oh yes, and two diagonal legs of the tower are grounded to 8ft rods.
