Howdy I have a Ford F-250 P/U with a firestick stake mount using the firering type coax RG-58 au I believe. I have a 5ft firestick 2 on this.With my 979 my swr was about 1.2 across the all 40 channels. I just installed a 95T and with the power on low I get 1.1-!.2 on 19 1.3 on 1 & 40. With the power turned all the way up it climbs to 1.7 on 19 and 1.8 or so on 1& 40. I've run ground straps from the bed & cab to frame. Battery to frame is also grounded. Everything has been checked with an ohmmeter and all is good. I this acceptable or will I damage the radio? It really gets out though. Recieve is great too. Thanks for any thoughts or comments.

Personally, I don't get concerned about the SWR between the amp and antenna unless it's more than a 2.1:1.
Always expect your SWR to climb some as you increase power.
I've often wondered what the (excepted) SWR is at a commercial broadcast radio station that is running a million watts or more.
