i just got a radio that came from coppers about 3 or 4 months ago. when the radio came from coppers upper side band had no audio on receive.. evey thing else works great u cant talk on upper and u can see the needle move when people talk back but u cant hear thim. guy that owned it never used upper side band so he didnt get it fixed now that i own it i would like ot fix it. hope this can be fixed..

so there is no tx output power in usb?? and there is no rx audio but you can see the needle move in usb? |

on upper side band it works normal but there is no audio when tryen to listen to people. its as if the squelch was turned way up, but now it seems that side band all to gether is messed up |

ok got side band working again seems my old power supply just cound not handle the load. new 25amp power supply does the trick =) ok so lsb works just fineonce again.. wish i could get rid of the hum the freq counter makes and open the clerifier, any one know how do do these mods???.. also any info on how i might go about geting upper side to work would be great |

Well my memory is pretty good for remembering what I have read here on the Copper Forum in post's.

This is what 307 wrote word for word on the subject of frequency counter buzz.

Go to Radio Shack, Pick up a 330 uF AXIAL LEAD Capacitor.
1) Remove BOTTOM COVER.
2) Remove the small screw holding the COUNTER MODULE in place.
3) Locate IC8 (7805A) transistor.
4) Directly in front of IC8 is a small capacitor 100 uF 16 Volt.
5) Attatch the NEW capacitor in PARALLEL with the existing one. (note the CENTER PIN of IC8 is the NEGATIVE side of the capacitor).
6) The capacitor will "lay" beside the existing one.
7) Put the rig back together, BUZZ GONE.
