I'm trying to turn wattage down in my 2950dx,There are two vr's for this (i think),one is vr19 low power, right? & I assume the other is vr15,which is labeled A/F power,. Is this one the one for high power? VR 19 is low as will go but im still keying 3&1/2 watts ,So my question is ,
Can I bring my variable power down with VR 15 A/F power, and be ok ? I adjusted it some & got it down to 2&1/2 watts but did i do the right thing? Thanks for any replies.

Sorry Lon, But in my 2950 dx VR19 is labeled low power & the only other VR containing the word power is VR15( VR15 A/F power). VR13 is there & located in left rear corner of radio upside down front facing you,but no label on it .& ssb power is VR14
ssb limit is labeled VR18.

Vr19 Low power will adjust the key power level when the RF power knob on the front of the radio is turned all the way to the left. I like to set mine to 1w(must be done with mic gain all the way down)this will give an adjustable dead key of about 1-8w adjustable with the RF power knob on front.
VR-13 High power adjusts the max output of the radio, adjust for max output and the back off a little(This will save your finals a little).
You should do all these into a Dummyload with a good meter

Thanks Nobody,I cant find anyone else who owns a 2950dx with the board no.RANGER-EPT695011A ,I dont know if mine is an old model or a new one, but I bought it 2 years ago at copper ele. & have had no trouble with it so far. Still trouble free but the board number seems to be a rare one for some reason.

I have a 2950dx with the same board number and you are correct no one does get it. The vr 15 is the high power not the vr 13. The board numbers are different and so are the vr's
