Hi, I have a Uniden Washington base radio and a D104 M6B hand mic. I have recived this information on the wiring of the mic. (1) Modulation - White (2) Not Used (3) Receive - Black (4) Ground - Shield (5) Transmit - Red I`m totally lost. Do I cut bot of the mic wires and then match up those wires?? |

You remove about an eighth of an inch of the insulation off of each of those wires coming out of the mic. The you solder them to the mic plug that goes into the radio. The pins are marked on the plug. For example. You cut an eighth of an inch of insulation off the white wire coming from the microphone and solder it the metal pin that is labled (1) on the mic plug. Repeat this for the rest of the wires. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

Let me add this... Be sure to use a good quality, 60/40 (60% lead to 40% tin) rosin core solder, and I like to use a finer soldering wire for mic wires (i.e. a solder that is thinner in diameter). Also, a 20-35 watt soldering iron (with a clean silvered tip) is all you need for mic wiring! Don't use that 75 or 100 watt Weller or you'll likely melt the plastic of the mic plug! OK, I'll admit it. I know this 'cause I actually DID it! Best of Luck and 73 Harpoonman |
