Hi There,

What kit or mods do i need to get the rest of the 40 and maybe the lower 40 also.And what resistor do i need to get talkback on this rig and not a very loud one at that.I'm fairly sure i know where to place it.Thanks in advance for your much needed advice,i really dig this oldie cobra.It's still like new... Airwolf101,

WELCOME TO THE COPPER FORUM!

For that old of a cobra 29 it would be far cheaper and less headaches to find a good used 40 Channel Cobra radio.

To get the 40 channels in it you would need what they call an Expo Kit. Not worth the money for that old of a radio in my opinion.

And if it is in good shape like you say you really do not want to drill holes or remove something for an extra channel switch

For Talkback add / solder a 100 ohm resistor across the PA and Ext Speaker jacks on the radio.

Hi Lon,

I agree it would mess the old radio up and the cost would not be justified.Thanks for the talkback info,i'll just add it and leave it be and find a connex or something with channels.
