the HTX-10 has nothing to do with HTX-100 which was a uniden clone. The HTX-10 was DESIGNED not to be expandable. Ir's a VERY GOOD 10 meter set all mode and is almost (99% the same ) as a 257. The HTX-10 is a EXCELENT IF for the TENTEC 2 to 10 meter transverter for thoes wanting to go on 2 meter SSB.

Never say never...The HTX-10 is modifiable with a chip exchange...I know, I know, allot of work (surly not worth the price) but it can and has been done.

Bruce - what do you think of the SSB performance of the HTX-100 compared to it's Uniden brothers? I read a few opions on the net that lead me to believe it's got better SSB reception because it uses a filter that is considerably tighter than the HR2510, HR2600, and Lincoln.

The HTX-100 is a NICE radio the only drawback is SSB only otherwise very nice.
