ok ive got a dx-55v....and just recently i hooked up an amp in the truck....HOWEVER I MESSED UP when i initially hooked everything up i hooked the antenna coax and the jumper from the raduio in the wrong inputs on the back of the amp...not realizing what i had done right away i keyed up twice..maybe 2-3 seconds each...and the 2nd time the box stayed keyed and i knew there was something wrong and i shut it down when that happened...well i made a few changes after that bc when i hooked it up correctly i grounded the amp in a different spot and made a new jumper...and now the amp seems to work ok but when i key up i have a real slight buzz in the background...almost sounds like an ac hum from a pwr supply...i tried running a seperate grtound for the radio and it didnt help...and i narrowed it down to the radio iutself...its not the mic and i ran the antenna right to the radio and the noise is still there...
any ideas help me |

Try turning off the freq. counter. They make a humming noise when they are on and the noise level is low enough you hear it. Give that a shot first. |

And if that doesn't work, try replacing the filter capacitor where the positive and negative leads are soldered onto the radoi's PC board.
You can't miss it. It's the largest one in the radio.
