I have a friend that lives in a restricted community and wants to get on the air. I was wanting to know if anybody knows anything about the Sat Dish antenna. I have seen one, but.. never been able to get any info. on how good or bad they really are. I would appreciate an answer from any Tech. or anyone that has any info. on this antenna.
Thanks:

Hi Aircop,

President Europe Electronics Group makes a cb antenna that looks like a satellite dish. (Yep, these are the same guys that make the Lincoln, Grant Export, etc.)

Copper may be able to get one for your friend, but I'm not sure.

Thanks Kilowatt, do you happen to know if these work? He will have to mount it low on the house to keep up the appearance of a Sat Dish. I would appreciate any word on the working ability of this antenna.
Thanks again:

Those so called "dish ant" for 27mhz don't work very well if at all. There are several good links on the web for building variuos "hidden" ants that will work much better.

I think your friend would be better off putting up a 1/2 wave dipole. They are easy to build and easy to hide.

This is off topic but it reminds me of an article I saw once in Reader's Digest. There was a college dorm where cooking was not allowed, hence you couldn't have a microwave. A sly student brought in a microwave anyway and put rabbit ear antennas on top of it so it looked like a TV. Apparently got away with it for two years even after countless room inspections!
