On my CB I ran the hotwire straight to the battery (through a relay) to hopefully reduce interference. I did not, however, run the negative wire to the battery. Should I have done that or would it make any difference?

thru a relay? direct to battery is always best for positive, same for negative, though to a seat mounting bolt will also work. just check to make sure grounds from battery to alt, engine block, and chassis are GOOD.

Thanks. I used a relay so that my CB and scanner both turn on with the ignition switch. That way I don't have to turn them on and off.
