I have a 04 Kenworth and the factory Refridgerator wipes out my receive when it is running. You have to turn it off to talk any distance. I have replaced coax,Run power wires to the battery,Grounded everything i can think of. Tried 4 different Radios with no change. So i am going to the source of the problem next. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried these. Found a few articles on Ham Sites that makes me think it would be worth a try.

Thanks, 692.

692, go to the auto parts store and buy a condensor. ( you remember, those little silver things that you always bought when you were replacing the points on your old VW.) they are actually a capacitor. wire it from the power lead of the offending motor to ground. if there are turn on leads or any other power inputs or outputs on the motor, do the same for each. ive seen this work wonders. also know that the brushes in motors are usually the culprit, and having them replaced can help.

Thanks for the reply Kid vicious,@ Bruce.
Kid, I got one of those condensers about 3 months ago, but never took the time to try it Figured it would be wasted time like everything else i have tried. Maybe that will work. But i am not sure if i understand how you are saying to wire it up. There is a switch in the sleeper to turn it on. Didnt know if i could wire it in there or if it needed to be closer to the motor. Of course the condensor only has one wire coming out of it and a mounting srap around it so what do i hook the wire up to the + or -

Thanks 692

Thanks for the Link Bruce, I found some split apart beads at a friends house today. I plan on trying those along with the condensor hoping to see some results. I am not giving up just yet.

Thanks, 692

692, sorry about the confusion. bolt the mounting strap to the engine, the body( if its not fiberglass), or any other grounded part of the vehicle that is close to the offending motor. then attatch the wire to the power wire going to the motor. on the offending motor, there is probably a power wire, a turn-on wire, and maybe a ground wire. put the condensor wire on the one that has voltage to it even when the motor is off.
hope this helps
