but it doesnt seem to wanna work, is this a relay only mike, or what?im having a hell of a time trying to get it to work.also what part(s) go bad in this mike besides the element?any suggestions on this old mike? also would it hurt it if i retrofit it with a 9 volt battery?funny thing, when it does work, i get really crappy modulation. i checked the battery and its brand new. i have to turn volume up all the way then talk close to the mike to get modulation out of it. any help would be appreciated.

Be careful , the "older" M+2 mics had B+ on the audio line. You may decouple the Audio Wire with a .1uF cap and try it...

The M+2 is for relay switched radios. The JM+2 is for electronic switching. If you can find a copy of the Turner wiring booklet, it shows the wiring difference. The M+2 can be made to work as a JM+2. Rightwing, I have a very nice JM+2 for sale if you are interested. I will be listing it on ebay next Mon. If you are interested drop me a e-mail at: themerc64@hotmail.com
