How will my pdl-2 react to guy wires? How far should they be mounter from the radials on the pdl-2?

Also, what is the best way to feed the coax to it? Meaning, where should the loop be for the slack to let it turn?

I also think this "rejection kit" is a joke. If such a cheap piece of wire would make it so much better, dont you thing they would of added it?

What I would really like to see is a polar plot!

Hi Duck246,
Tech 833 says that you need to keep the guy wires a few feet below the elements on the PDL-2 but the rotor can be in the path of them.

I talk to some locals that have PDL-2s and they love them and would not give them up.
I asked all of them about the PDL-2 plastic hubs not holding up after time in sun and weather and two of them have the PDL-2s up for over 5 years and they are as good as when put up and holding up great and plastic hubs look fine in all the weather here in PA. If you are careful tightening the metal hubs there is no problem, They said the main problem with the hubs is when people tighten them to tight.

rejection kit wasn't meant for pdlII, but for yagi-type antenna with quad-type reflector, which is what maco y-quad, comet, shooting star, laser & laser 500 are. it's been over 25 years & do not remember results, but back in 70's, there were TONS of moonrakers, raker 6's, and wilsons(now maco) all over long island. EVERYBODY had some type of beam. we tried numerous configurations of wires on reflector elements (even put quad-type reflector on a few wilson 3-4-5 element beams with mixed results) on my y-quad rebuilt to a semi-home-designed comet we experimented with several wire configurations, if i can remember correctly, we added 3 more smaller length wires to reflector element, bringing wire to within a couple of inches of where fiberglass met aluminum. i don't remember there being anything noticeable on xmit, but i do remember it increasing the front-to-back rejection. at least if i remember, that's the only reason i left it on there. lengthening or shortening boom to get better forward gain or f-t-b rejection would probably have worked better since i needed to buy tube for boom anyway. and i'd to this day prefer more forward gain/forward directivity then f-t-b rejection.
