A while back on a thread on setting up a base , I think I remember someone suggesting to ground the electrical outlet I,m using to the ground rod that my radio equipment is grounded to . I can,t find the thread I,m referring to and am not sure this is what was said . Does this sound right , or did I dream that ?

It was said but caution must be adhered to in the fact that a ground fault will seek the path of least resistance. Meaning that, if your home ground is old your whole house will try to ground thru the 12Ga wire on your third prong of your radio plug. This is against NEC standards as both ground rods should be strapped or the ground of the radio needs to be isolated from the building ground.

1861 GROUND TO THE OUTLET?

If I remember right your lighting ground should be to a center point. I cant see allowing it any path back through the house wireing.
