Seems that all the better grade imports and type accepted radios came from the Philippines, IE: most of the Uniden line until just resent models, A good share of the Cobra line to include the great Cobra 2000-GTL and pre'94 148-GTLs. Although if you look back onto the Uniden line of the '60s thru early '80s with the uPD-858 PLL circuit, you'll find that these great classic and still popular radios were made in Japan and are of the best quality and workmanship money could afford. Many of these classics are still in operating condition and in the hands of collectors, many not all hacked up in like new condition, still demanding a high dollar price tag. I'm a collector of the older Uniden sideband radios, most of them with the uPD-858 PLL.

I believe the the president radios under the regency label were made by uniden in taiwan or south korea e.g. p-400,p-300 and the erstwhile am-only p-200.Bigbob
