452 squeals like a pig if I use echo more than barely on. Thats the way I run it. But is this normal?

Mrclean,

Since the Galaxy 88 already has a built in Echo Board and Talkback is ON with Echo, adding an Echo Mic is not a good idea or should not be needed with the Factory Echo Board already installed in it.

Did the Factory Echo Board quit working or is it disconnected?

Is your Factory Echo/E-Tone control turned completely off when you are using the DM452?

Try turning your E-Tone control on the front of the radio completely Off to disable the talk back and ask someone on the air if it is still squealing.

I don't use talkback and echo on radio because it gives feedback if mic is turned up much. Just got echo mic set to first dot by min. Lots of galaxys do this with talkback on so I don't use it. This is common isn't it?
