Super Sidekicks can do that might need the switches cleaned, I have a sidekick myself.

On second thought, being as old as the Super Sidekicks are, the switches might also need just a little adjusting so they make better contact with each other. I have seen this happen several times on an older used microphone. I have maybe 20 different types and from a few different microphone companies and each one was purchased used, all the way to my pristine Silver Eagle. Check all the wires on both ends of the microphone cord, making sure no wires are touching and have good solder contact. the problem could also be a broken wire in the microphone cord and not always making contact, any Super Sidekick is worth a new cord if needed. also try cleaning both of the controls top and the one on the PC board with a good spray contact cleaner. Many times I've found the problem to be a dirty control. A good looking and operating Super Sidekick is worth $50.00-$75.00 on an auction site.
