I like the mic a whole lot but now that I have wired it to my Uniden PC66a it has talk back. Appearently this is a feature the mic has and I cannot stand it. What wire do I cut or unsolder to get rid of talkback? Any info would greatly be appreciated

I get annoyed with talkback with no variable or off switch too. Looking for that info now, a friend of mine has the same radio with talkback in it and he can turn his off and on.

Ajm1571,

From the spec's listed here in Copper I guess it does give Talkback to most Cobra/Uniden radios.

FEATURES:

TOTAL CONTROL ECHO FROM REAR THUMBWHEELS

CRISP, CLEAN AUDIO

LONG REPEAT ECHO

REVERB

ALIEN VOICE?

WAMMY? EFFECTS

TALKBACK ON MOST UNIDEN AND COBRA RADIOS

POWER MIC VOLUME CONTROL

LONG FLEXIBLE CORD THAT STAYS FLEXIBLE IN COLD

Sorry I can't be of more help but I never used one before or had one apart to see what you could possibly do to cancel it.

Maybe one of the Copper Forum Members who owns one can offer some help.

I think there is a POT inside the mic that turns this down. It should be white, and square looking.
