anyone got info on a good tech for AM. Looking to get a Uniden PC68elite and a tune to 1.5 dead key with decent swing. I want it to be able to drive a kl200p or kl203 at some point. A shop that can supply the radio, tuning, amp and antenna would be ideal. PM me if you like. I emailed Copper but whoever responded didn't really know what they were talking about, said that the PC68 elite didn't even exist???

Thanks for the help!

Just a idea .... Make a 6 DB pad good for 5 watts using carbon resistors. With this pad you will have a good SWR between the radio and amp and 1 watt driving the amp. The preamp in the amp will make up for the loss in signal that the pad will cause on receive. A simple DPDT bypass will allow you to take the pad out when your not running the amp.

A pad is a way of deviding your output.....

Back in the days when us HAMS BUILT our own transveters for bands like 6 and 2 meters it was common to run the transmitter into a PAD and sample signal off it to run the low leval input to the mixer which only required a small part of this output to work.
