just bought a new texas ranger tr 127fs hooked it up and the meter goes to the left and not to the right whats wrong thanks |

Backward modulation usually means the carrier is set too high. Was it like that from the factory or has someone "tuned it up?" |

new out of the box friend ofmine tried using a different mic could he have fried it ranger tr127fs

What exactly happens? You key the mic and the meter shows a power level, then you speak into the microphone and the needle backs up rather than goes forward?
Does it sound okay on the air? |

Yea, the power declines when modulating but I get great reports and there meter on radio shows a upswing.

is it a meter in the radio that swings backward, or an external wattmeter that swings backward? |

Determine what patzerozero said first. Is it on both meters? What's the deadkey set at when you don't talk into the mic? I have ran into these issues before and just had it turned too high. I would say if it's deadkeying over 4 watts, turn it down to like 2-3 watts or so. I like more swing on mine but to each his own. good luck |
