looking for a radio for the car I like these three radio. if you have had one of these radio please let me know how you liked it.

I've had the Grant and I currently have the Lincoln, never owned the 2950, but which ever one you choose, I think you'll be happy with. They are all good performers on AM and SSB.

I have a chipswitched Lincoln and I highly recommend it. More can be done with the Lincoln or the 2950DX. Grant is a good set but between the choices you offered it would be my last choice |

LEAGAL cb Grant XL I have one its my base.

2950 i have had both the 2950 and 2950 DX good radio for SSB not so good on FM.
Moders delight
lincoln with chipswitch and a channel guard and changing the 1674 to 2999 rf stage its as good as some low end ham rigs

Grumpy,
Since the Grant is a CB if you are looking for a CB then that would make a good one.
Since the Ranger 2950 and President Lincoln are 10 Meter Radio's then between the 2 radio's for Overall Performance I would personally choose the President Lincoln and do the Chip Switch Modification.
But!
If you want the MOST Bang for the Buck and for a Mobile the Radio that I would personally pick as #1 would be the  Magnum 257!

I've owned all 3 - well, not a Lincoln but 2510s and 2600s.
My last choice would be the 2950 although I haven't seen a new one. The 2950 I owned for a month worked okay but seemed cheap compared to my 2510, and that big board just flexed too easily. I also didn't like how it operated.
I love Uniden Grants, and I currently use one for my CB modified only with a Channel Guard. It's excellent.
I have to say that I really love my Chipswitched 2510. I prefer it over my TS450 for 10 meter use because of the added functionality of the Chipswitch. With a Channel Guard it's an excellent radio and I don't think there are any that even come close in the 10 Meter or "Export" category. |

depends on what your plans are, grumpy. 2950 i would not even consider. since they don't make grant XL's anymore, the EQUAL is the texas ranger 296. which they also do NOT make anymore, but are still around. as a CB only, excellent out of the box & can be made even better yet, fairly inexpensively. the lincoln has more features at twice the price...i use a modded XL in my mobile for local & dx-IT'S AWESOME!!! |

I run a Grant XL on the base,does all I ask of it. Have owned both the RCI 2950 and 2 President HR-2510s which is very close to the Lincoln. Best bang for the buck is the Grant XL or LT. But if you can't find a good Grant XL or LT you might want to take a look at the new Magnum 257 another best bang for the buck and made in the Philippines like the Grants.I agree with Hollowpoint's comment about the RCI 2950 being cheaply made and if the CPU goes out on the RCI 2950 it's not worth the cost of repair. A new CPU alone is around $100.00, then you have the labor charge on the install and alignment.

Grumpy: I've read the reports on both radios and the Magnum-257 sounds like one heck of a deal for the money.
