That pink 1104C has become a collectors item and very rare in like new condition. They came in several colors.

I have a friend who has one in every color he's aware of - it's like a rainbow on his shelf when he sets them all out.

They're a nice microphone. I prefer them to the D104.

I forgot to mention that when he uses an 1104C he uses the pink one. I think he bought it new for less than $10 at a hamfest.

Gator,
just consider the pink to be a base coat and get out the spray paint and masking tape.

I guess the 1104C is an ok microphone, I just never cared for the looks of them or how they sounded on the air, compared to the D-104 they sounded a little on the flat side and not the quality audio of the D-104. You don't hear them as much as when they first came on the market. Right after they came out the trend went to the Turner Plus Three and Super Sidekick. As of late the trend has gone to the Astatic Eagle series microphones. I'm still watching the auction sites for a new in the box Diamond Eagle at a right price on a buy now price. For my Astatic collection. The very good microphone that was over looked was the Shure 444-T, very hard to find now. I was lucky enough to come across one in good shape.

Sure you hear them on the air all the time Yankee - it's basically the base version of the D104M6 mobile microphone.

I never really cared for the D104 because most people tend to use it at arm's length rather than close talk it as every microphone should be used. You can hear the paint drying as well as the person's voice unless they're in an anechoic chamber.

My friend with the large microphone collection actually prefers the 1104C because of the tone control and it's easily adjustable gain control.

Now you have my interest fired up and I might look around for an 1104C, don't want to have to pay a lot for one in case I don't care for it.
