I know it is reccomended to run the Omega Force with an amp that runs 4 2sc2879's.
However my question is what about an amp the runs 4 2sd1446's.
Is this ok, does the radio need any mods.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

if you're not gonna be afraid of smoke & flames, you can TRY it. turn omega's variable output down to LESS THEN 3 WATTS ON AM, & TURN MIC GAIN DOWN SO SWING IS UNDER 20 WATTS. IF USING SSB, TURN MIC GAIN DOWN SO SWING IS UNDER 20 WATTS. if you see in the neighborhood of 300 watts swing out of the amp & audio is relatively clean, then you're good. 25 watts MAX & check frequently for heat. make sure the amp does NOT have a 5th transistor as a driver, that will be MUCH harder to make work, & MAX swing would have to be MUCH LOWER. turning the mic gain down to make the swing go DOWN from 40 to 20 will NOT make much difference in the audio, but that's the ONLY way to even have a chance of making that amp work with the omega. texas star dx500 is a better choice.
