Just curious, and don't mean nothing by it, but why don't you use SSB? Why limit your use to just AM when you can have the best of both worlds?

Ok, I can go with that. Guess there are some that just don't care for SSB and I can understand that.
When I first started in this hobby in the early/mid 70's, all I had was AM and didn't even know what SSB was(i was only like 11 years old.)I remember hearing some of the old timers that talked on AM talk about SSB and thought it was something that was a no-no for me, you still had to have a license then, though it was free. I of course couldnt afford an SSB radio and was having enough fun on AM so I never bothered. When I got back into CB, I decided if I was going to have a radio, it was going to have SSB. After making my first contact on SSB, I was hooked. Rarely do I ever talk on AM now.

Then I went OTR with a friend he had the johnson SSB rig and was hooked from then.

Hi Lenoard I use now a RCI. 2950 & also had a Galaxy 99 and never used ssb. I liked the Gen. Lee that i had. I have a Base that has ssb. Its a Galaxy 2517 I use ssb on that . i dont like to tune in on stations. When skip comes in i talk all over on that. I like the way the magnam 6 looks and the round meter looks like the meter in the first cb. that i had it was a Granada 23 channel

Waterboy I do not remember that type but the round meter the regency and kraco type's had the round meters in them as well.(I think)
And as far as tuning in other stations it gets kinda off the wall when the open the clarifier then you have to tune in to alot of people.
