Grumpy Give more details? Do you mean ssb or am? Also what do you mean by Slow? More info helps us to understand what the problem is!

when you key the mic it takes 2 or 3 sec to key

I once had a mic with dirty contacts that had those symptoms.

A friend had that problem before so I suggested replacing his old worn out corroded cracked with shielding hanging out the end coax with good fresh coax and problem went away.
