Little heat up is normal. That's what they heat sink is for....

But, if it is hotter than it was before, I'd check things out. Are you saying this is the case ?

TX-ing alot especially at higher wattages
will cause heat sinks to get alittle hot.
I have a RCI 2995dx base and i run the
fan kit thats slides over the heat sinks.

are you sure its not the transformer getting warm?
open up the radio and find out exactly what is getting warm. is it the heatsink near the final?
or is it the power supply?

whatever your final transistor is bolted to is what i'm considering to be the "heatsink".
if its a mobile then its the actuall chassis of the radio. the reason i'm mentioning it is because i might have a couple of suggestions for you.

roadwarrior, how come i didnt think to ask him what kind of radio it is? i must be slippin'
