internal speaker good--no sound--radio is rx'ing good according to meter and I do get audio when external spkr plugged in. bad cap or what?

did someone try and put talkback in that radio?
im thinking there may be an extra wire on your speaker jack. other than that, make sure that the wires going from the circuit board to the internal speaker are showing continuity. these wires can get pinched in the case or wiggled loose by repeated connection/disconnection.

check the pcb side of the board where the speaker wires are.. usally the solder will split there "cold solder" from it being in the cornor it get alot of tension there... i had that problem with mine... simple fix just take the soldering gun and heat it up putting it all back to one...

Hi, I had the same audio trouble and the external mic jack was sticking when I pulled out the ext. speaker plug out and I opened the radio up and just pushed the 2 pieces that make contact with the plug apart a little bit and it works great.
