I am getting ready to put up my Lightning 4+ antenna and I have been experimenting with some methods of sealing the coax. I work in an auto body shop and we have many different types of sealers. So far the best thing has been windshield urethane. It seems to really bond to the coax outer jacket and it is very durable. I believe it should also be fairly UV resistant. I also plan on painting the plexi glass supports and fiberglass rods to give them UV protection.
Anyone have any input on these types of antennas?

Coax seal works good. Not sure if Copper
carries it or not. Can be found at R.S.
stores. |

You can also get so239s with L-bracket and center pigtail if you want to use a pl-259 connector termination,signal engineering won't offer them unless you ask for them,I got mine and they connect with hose clamp and are adjusted the same way but are only rated at 1000 watts,I said "My god it's a cb antenna it's more than enough".Bigbob |
