i have an older 2950 iy turns on lights up but it does not transmit or receive at all? the backup battery has been replaced with two aa holder! the right side of the radio by the second 7808pi is getting very very hot! untouchable? any ideas or guesses? thanks in advance! 73's chris

Rippedradio,

Without having it on a bench to check it out it would be very hard to even guess.

I would suggest taking it to a good tech and having it checked out.

not sure about the heat, but check IC5 and IC16, they are bolted to the chassis' side and may have a cracked solder joint
