Got one to put up. A guy I know that has a real nice base and mobile runs one. He was talking to a guy the other night about 120 miles away as a crow flies. Anyway he said as far as a beam goes its sturdy and fairly easy to keep up. He has ran lots of different antennas and overall prefers it to a Moonraker 4. Says differece is minimal. Anyone on here run one? Was reading some old posts and one guy said it was a good Idea to put a flat peice of plexiglass behind hubs. I will use lexan because we make it were I work. Just wondering what some of you that have ran them think. And how you feel they compare to a yagi. The new HV beams look nice also |

Well,I have one up and they're easy to put up compared to any other beam(very short boom)and they stand up to wind pretty good too,strange thing though,the fibre glass spreaders will bend or warp,up here in winter the sun is in a southerly path and you point the antenna toward the north and the spreaders warp backwards,you point it toward the south and they return to foward warp,it is just strange.But,otherwise it's a good performing little antenna and the signal engineering white lightning is twice as good but 11 feet longer.Bigbob |

Lexan will work great as we fixed up
a broken PDL-2 hub for a friend with
Lexan. We have a couple of people here
in my local area that use the PDL-2.
They like them. Tech 808 is going to do
a review on the new Maco 3 element HV
beams in the future sometime, probably after
he gets them up and uses them for awhile.

I know three people in my area (20-50 miles) and they love them. one of them has his PDL-2 up about 10 yeas the others 5 years and 1year, they have no problems at all so far.
you could hold on to it for a collectable or use it and you will be happy.

I run my PDL-ll horizontal on the CEF Sunday nets and it does a great job. The PDL-ll I owned back home in upstate New York was something like 15-20 years old when I sold it and the Channel Master Crown rotor. The last I knew, the new owner is still very happy with it, and it's close to maybe 15 or so years ago I sold it.
