Moved my 9'er to the base just to give the Galaxy some fresh air :-) and finally get the JP4 jumper out for the freq counters 6th digit :-):-). While modulating last night I FINALLY got the time to try sideband...power is DOWN? :-(
Everything else looks 100% on AM but I only get around 15w pep MAX on LSB,USB or FM. I'm familiar with the hi/low power VR's in this radio but unsure what I can adjust to balance(?) or turn up the SSB power? I checked the mods section but didn't see anything on a SSB power VR. Any ideas? Should I look to see if the ALC pod has been fooled with? Don't even wanna touch it till I get a little input...THANKS!

BTW speaking of the hi/low power VR's..WOW that VR13 is a touchy one huh!? I was able to make no improvement in AM power...is HOTROD peaked right from Magnum..just set the Low power DK closer to 2 watts is all. TOP Gun still swings nicely to 40w with modulator on. Have to be careful with Top gun off if Power is "UP" because DK sits around 13+...NOT GOOD for the radio! Left side heats up quick like that!
Note to self: Leave power down and top gun "ON".
Anyway...ideas on adjustments for SSB and/or FM power?

NEVERMIND the ssb pwr thing! I'm an idiot or was REAL tired last night. Went back to the mods page and saw that the ALC "IS" the SSB pwr! Oops!
Any other opinions welcome though...:-)
